Blackbird Kintsugi 10x12"
I was looking for a new wing to paint and a photograph of a Blackbird wing inspired this abstract painting. The feathers are iridescent and vibrant. It has been made using painted paper collage, acrylic inks, textured with glass beads and metal paints, black tube lining, iridescent colours and mixed media on canvas board.
I called it Kintsugi which is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery usually with gold, in the process the objects become stronger and more beautiful.
12x14" framed, no glass required.
