June 2024 Exhibition Preview

I hope you enjoy this exhibition preview and will be able to come to my exhibition which will be the largest ever showing of my work. Nothing beats seeing the paintings, as it’s difficult to appreciate the texture and sculptural quality from my photographs.

The exhibition runs for 2 weeks at the Horton Arts Centre -June 25th to July 6th. I will be joined by 4 other talented artists: Emma Champion, Sue Sheen, Lynn Toulson and photographer Laurence Berle. Nearly all the paintings will be for sale and you can take home your purchases immediately.

I will be exhibiting pictures from my favourite themes : Mars, Goats and Birds. I have also added new topics- I was inspired by photographs from the National Geographic magazine of feathers to create the Bird of Paradise paintings. I have always loved Abalone shells and used them to inspire the colours and shapes of my latest work. There is also a quirky collection of paintings inspired by an Italian tractor called ORSI.

My recent work is inspired by pushing the boundaries of acrylic mixed media and adding new materials. I have discovered copper mesh and combined it with acrylics, alcohol ink and aluminium to create unique pieces of art. The aluminium gives the work a wonderful iridescence, the mesh unusual texture and the alcohol inks are strong vibrant colours.

The exhibition will be on from Tuesday 25th June to Saturday 6th July. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 9.30am to 4.30pm. The Horton Arts Centre, Haven Way, Epsom, Surrey KT19 8NP
